Technology for Creating Green Spaces

What we are doing to create green spaces in the environment itself.

Technology for Creating Green Spaces

In increasingly sophisticated urban and residential environments, there is a need to create green spaces not only in buildings, roads, and other structures, but also in the environment itself.
We use a variety of landscaping techniques to create optimal green spaces while meeting many special conditions and constraints.

Greening space using baskets (wire mesh)

Mesh baskets (wire mesh) have the following features (benefits):

large planting area

Mesh baskets allow you to plant not only on the top but also on the sides, giving you a larger planting area.

diverse landscape

Mesh baskets can be used not only for planting, but also for landscaping by filling the basket with stones.

strong planting environment

It prevents planting soil from scattering due to wind and rain, protecting not only the planting environment but also the exteriors of buildings and other buildings. In particular, rooftop gardens and wall greening can be expected to be effective.

light

For rooftops, there is a weight limit in most cases, but for mesh baskets it is about 10 kg/m, which is about 1/5 of the weight of a conventional planter. (For GRC planters)

Easy to transport

Since it is an assembly type, it is a flat panel when transported. It is also easy to transport and unload onto the roof.

Easy to install and remove

It is assembled by joining together panels of about 2m, and it can be completed in a short amount of time. It is also easy to remove when it is no longer needed.

Example of green space using baskets (wire mesh)

The rooftop garden (renewal) of the Maru Building is being constructed using baskets (wire mesh).

  • We use mesh baskets (wire mesh) instead of the conventional planters and concrete earth retaining.
  • Mesh baskets can be manufactured in various shapes such as rectangular, trapezoidal, and round, but here we are using trapezoidal ones with a total length of about 160 m.

Diverse domestic use cases

Many green spaces using baskets (wire mesh) can be seen both in Japan and overseas.
